Kitties - With all of the campaigning going on, I wanted to sing a song about it. I found this nearly perfect song by Radiohead called "Electioneering". It is so perfect, I had to change only a very few words! Are you ready to sing?
I will stop
I will stop at nothing
Say the right things
When
electioneering
I trust I can rely on your vote
When I go forwards
you
go backwards and
somewhere we will meet
Hocking Hairballs
Dirty your litterbox
It's just business
Catnip stealing and fur shaving
I trust I can
rely on your vote
When I go forwards
you go backwards and
somewhere we
will meet

A Question For The Kitties
Kitties - lately something strange has been going on. Recently I have been feeling like someone is watching me (and I don't mean Ol' Lard Butt). When I look, I don't see anyone, but I could swear that I smell shrimp eggrolls......does anyone know what this means?

A Special Post for My Sweet Ba-Boo
Kitties - My Sweet Ba-Boo, Kozmo has been having a rough week with his naughty sister insulting him. But then, he posted extraordinary dead mousie count today (plus a really hot picture of him bathing!) So Kozzie, I talked Mommie into making this video just for you!

Monday Musings With Sassy: Hairballs
Kitties - unfortunately, today there will not be a Monday Musings. You see, late last night I had a problem with a hairball. So that, that person, the Mommie cruelly forced fed me some hairball medicine! Can you believe such abuse!!! I am currently pouting under the bed, coming out only long enough to glare Mommie into submission. Since I am refusing to speak to that Mommie creature, I can't dictate my Monday Musings to her.
I shall have my revenge.....

Friday Songs With Callie: Goodbye My Fuzzy Boys
Kitties - as everyone who is anyone knows, the CB had a big event this week. King Spitty I is no longer, uhm, intact. I created this song for him to sing regarding his loss. It was orginally "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John, but now it is "Goodbye My Fuzzy Boys" by Spitty.
I should have stayed outta the PTU
I should have bitten my old hooman
You know you gotta sleep sometime
I wanna my boys back now!
I can’t believe you chopped off my boys
This cat’s too young to be singing the blues
So goodbye my special fuzzy boys
All the Ladies of CB can stop crying
My pink beddy will be busy again
I've got my mojo back!
When are my
boys gonna come back
When are my
boys coming homeI should have stayed outta the PTU
I should have bitten my old hooman
You know you gotta sleep sometime
I wanna my boys back now!
I can’t believe you chopped off my boys
This cat’s too young to be singing the blues
So goodbye my special fuzzy boys
All the Ladies of CB can stop crying
My pink beddy will be busy again
I've got my mojo back!

Delayed Monday Musings With Sassy: Stupid Human Shopping
Kitties - Sassy here. My Monday's Musings was slightly delayed this week, but the rant is still hot! Today I want to talk about humans and their inability to do math! This last weekend in Dallas was crazy. Here in Texas, we have one weekend before school starts that is a "Tax Free" weekend. Shoppers can buy certain items, such as school clothes and supplies tax free. This is a big shopping weekend here in Texas. A lot of people come in from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Lousianna for this event. Mommie knows to just stock up and stay away from the stores for the whole weekend. It is like the day after Thanksgiving in August.
Now lets do the math on this event, since apparently the humans can't. The tax rate in this area of Texas is 8.25%. Most people from out of town stay at least overnight for this weekend. So lets stay that the average school supply shopping human spends $400 on supplies and clothes. Not paying taxes on this saves them $33 dollars. To shop this weekend they will spend lets say $100 on a hotel, $75 on food and $50 on gas.
So the brillant humans spent $225 to save $33.....words just fail me........

We Gots An Award!
Kitties - Our new friends the Cherry City Kitties gave us an award - the Beautiful Blogger Award. Thank you Cherry City kitties!
Since this award is "beautiful", you know I, Callie am going to handle this. I supposed to tell you 7 things about me (and okay Ol' Lard Butt Sassy also). Lets see:
- While Sassy is scared of the sucky monster, I kind of like it. I hope to one day hop on board and ride it down the street. What? It is like a convertible....
- When Mommie brings in a 'Nip leaf for us, Sassy plays with her. Not me - I just swallow the whole thing down. Party in my tummy!
- While Sassy has just a plain ol' meow, mine is high pitched (although Mommie uses the word "grating" - I don't know what that means - beautiful maybe??
- Even though Sassy rolls her eyes every time I mention my Sweet Ba-Boo, Kozmo, I think that really she is jealous and wants to have a boycat friend herself. I see her secretly re-reading certain mencats blogs over again.
- I do not like it when Mommie plays kissie face with me! No kisses!
- One of my new nicknames is "the Callister" - I don't know what this means - ask crazy Mommie.
- Sassy could be on the Olympic Pouting Team. Actually, I kind of admire her most excellent pouting skills.
As usual, Mommie doesn't know of anyone has has not already received this award, she is just going to say, if you haven't, feel free to award it to yourself!

Thursday's Tall Tales With Trouble: Dinner With Mr. Benny Hana
Kitties – I had a great adventure last night. Recently I heard Mommie talking about going
to see some guy called Benny Hana. Now,
I had never met Mr. Hana, but I heard Mommie say the magical words SUSHI, so I
made plans to go with her to visit him.
Good thing Mommie carries a large purse everywhere. Sneaking into it was a piece of cake. When we first arrived, there was a large pond
in front with a bunch of fish in it. Now
I thought this was Mr. Hana’s kind way of letting us select our sushi before
preparing it, but apparently not since Mommie just walked in without
stopping.
Soon Mommie was seated at a large table and had a plate of
something she called California Rolls.
Good thing Mommie had stopped by the bar before eating. She never even noticed the white paw sneaking
out of her purse and snagging 1 or 3 pieces of sushi! Next Benny (I feel that since I have eaten
his sushi I can now call him by his first name) came out and started cooking
our meal right there at the table. At
first, this part seemed kind of boring with vegetables and stuff, until
suddenly, from inside of the purse I smelled SHRIMP! I peeked out of the purse and saw shrimp
cooking right there. Yum! But here is a hint to the wise – never try to
sneak a piece of shrimp while knives are flashing! Sushi and shrimp – what a meal! I think that I love this Benny Hana man.
Now, if I can just find a way to explain my sushi breath to
Mommie……

Tabby Tuesday: My Nip Pillow
Kitties - I love my Nip Pillow! Unfortunately, so does Callie! So I demanded that Mommie make her one of her own.
But now I want hers also....

Monday Musings With Sassy: Human Education
Kitties - Sassy here. With all of the CatOlympics and parties going on, I have not been able to post a Monday Musing post lately, and believe me, I have been musing alot! Here in Texas, the human school is getting ready to start up again. And this has me musing.
Okay, the humans like to think that they are the "superior species". Wait, hang on a minute, I have to wipe the tears of mirth from my eyes! But lets compare the education process for cats and humans.
Every store here in Texas is filled right now to bursting with "school supplies". To go to school and learn, the humans need notebook paper, pens, calculators, etc. We kitties start learning with nothing, just our fur and brains.
Humans!

- We kitties start learning right from birth. The humans don't start school until around five years!
- After about six weeks of learning from mommie cat we kitties are done. The humans must go to school for a minimum of 12 years (unless you are from Arkansas, then I think it is about 6 years, MOL!). So lets see that is 6 weeks for the cats versus about 687 weeks for the humans.
Humans!

Friday Songs With Callie: Hot, Hot, Hot!!
Kitties - here in Texas, like just about everywhere else, it has been HOT, HOT, HOT! So it is only fitting that today's song is "Hot, Hot, Hot" by Buster Poindexter (okay, either that is a fake name or the poor boy was beat up on a regular basis in school!) Of course, I had to put a cat's spin on the song!
Yessa, haha
Yes, kitties
Party kitties all around me
Feeling hot, hot, hot
We need a party song, a fundamental jam
Feeling hot, hot, hot
Feeling hot, hot, hot
Meow, Meow
Meow, MeowYessa, haha
Yes, kitties
Me paws on
fire, me fur on fire
Feeling hot,
hot, hotParty kitties all around me
Feeling hot, hot, hot
What to do
on a night like this?
Music sweet, I can't resistWe need a party song, a fundamental jam
So we go meow,
meow
Yeah, we meow,

Dog Is My CoPilot Book
Kitties - Recently, I received this book from Savannah's Mommie.
I have not had a chance to read all of it yet, but I can tell it is going to be one of those books that make you cry a little then feel really good! It is full of adoption success stories and the people who made them possible.
If you are looking for a feel good book, check this one out!
Thanks Savannah!

Thinking Of You Award
Kitties – Sassy here. Today we are going to talk about
awards. I have received the wonderful “Thinking
About You” award from Spitty. Before we
talk about that though, Mommie would like to apologize. During all of the madness of the CatOlympics
and the Spotted Airhead’s pawty, she received two other awards. Since we already had posts lined up, we had
to delay announcing the awards. And now
Mommie cannot remember who gave them to us!
(She’s old what can I say!!) She
wants to let everyone know that we love getting awards and appreciate them, but
have just been too distracted lately.
For Spitty’s award, Sassy was supposed to name seven things
she thinks about, but Callie is pouting because, contrary to popular opinion
she does think, so Mommie is going to let Sassy list four things and Callie
three things.
Sassy’s four deep
thoughts:
1.
Strangers. Was that a stranger I heard at the door? What if a stranger comes into the house? How long can I stay under the bed to avoid
strangers? Will Mommie slide me some
food under the bed if the stranger is rude enough to stay the night?
2.
Treats. I love treats. Unfortunately, Mommie has discovered that
treats upset my tummy, so no more treats.
(sigh) I miss them so….
3.
Brushing. I love to have Mommie brush my furs. This is a good thing since I am a medium long
haired cat. I can usually con Mommie
into three or four brushes a day!
4.
The
Spotted Airhead. What is she up
to? Is she going to try to get me to
play with her again today? Am I going to
have to hear about Kozmo again? Is she
eating my food – I am pretty sure that last crunch sounded like it came from my
bowl.....
Callie’s three deep thoughts:
1.
Kozmo, My
Sweet Ba-Boo. He is so
handsome. His black furs are so
shiny. He is so smart. Is he thinking about me? Will he like it if I wear my furs this
way? I wonder how many mousies he has
caught today?
2.
Messing
with Sassy’s Mind. This is sooooo
much fun! Sometimes I will tell her that
someone is coming over, just to watch her dive under the bed (hehe!) or eat
something out of her bowl!
3.
Singing. What can I say, the public has spoken!
We are also supposed to pass this award along, but it seems to have already made the rounds of the blogs Mommie follows. If you have not already received it, feel free to claim it!
And now, Spitty, this picture is just for you!

Kitties - the day you have long waited for (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration!) is here. Announcing the winners of the CatOlympics Best Nippy Face Event.........
From the start, Alfie jumped (or is that blearily staggered?) into the lead and held it through out the event and through out the munchies. Ling also made much personal sacrifice and just inhaled deeply to hold on the Silver. There was a real battle of Bronze between Gracie, Tucker and Kjelle Bus - or there would have been if only they could have stopped giggling long enough!
Drrruuuummm Rrrrollll Please:
